When Atlanta rapper Future released his song Mask Off it was a guaranteed hit. Future has mastered the art of the chart-topping single, with his successes like Jumpman, Low Life, and Wicked, all reaching massive chart-topping success. After Kendrick Lamar brought Future out on stage at Coachella last month to perform Mask Off, fans began to speculate wildly that there was a remix coming soon.
Fans did not have to wait long. Future released the Kendrick Lamar collab and fans went wild. Kendrick's verse begins at the 1:55 mark, and he spends much of his 90-second verse admonishing those who ever doubted him, "Everybody who didn't pay respect / Gotta fess up now and pay your debt." Lamar's verse stands as a declaration to any opposition of his success, almost to say, try and stop me.
