Taking a Trip to New York

Over spring break, Jacob Turner, a junior this year, spent the week on a mission trip with his church to Bloomfield, New Jersey. They also spent a few days in Hoboken, New Jersey and New York City.

On the trip, Turner's group worked with local churches to fix up the exterior and interior of the buildings, however the main project of the week was preparing an Easter egg hunt that had over 2,000 attendees. This included setting up all the games like ring toss and the egg hunt, as well as making the boundaries for the kids that were made out of wooden stakes the group had made earlier in the week.

When asked what his favorite part of the trip was Turner said," Seeing the kids at the easter egg hunt was pretty cool, because we worked all week for that." This was Turner's first trip to New York so when the group visited Times Square he was "excited to see it and experience it." Although he did enjoy Times Square, Turner said," I probably wouldn’t go back to New York City because it was very busy and wasn't for me but it was a fun experience."
