Lady Gaga Rocks the Super Bowl LI Halftime Show

Gaga pleases fans and viewers alike with her outstanding performance.

The Super Bowl, for many, is a time to get together with family and friends to watch a high stakes football game. In recent years, the viewership of the Super Bowl has grown immensely from an estimated 90 billion to 113 billion. Around 112.2 million people are estimated to have watched the Half Time show specifically. This year, Lady Gaga took the stage for the Super Bowl LI Halftime Show.

Super Bowl LI was not only a time to showcase the Falcons and the Patriots, but a time for Lady Gaga to put on a show. The stadium opened its roof so that the artist could put on a grand opening, consisting of drones and a jump down from the top of the stadium to the stage. She opened with the classic songs of "This Land is Your Land" and "God Bless America." After her big jump Gaga performed her hit songs, including "Poker Face," "Just Dance," and "Telephone" to name a few. Gaga wore several sparkly outfits throughout her performance. The crowd surrounding the stage participated in holding up lights and participating in synchronized dancing. Lady Gaga ended her half-time performance with throwing down the microphone and jumping off the stage.

Lady Gaga is known for her outspoken views about politics, as seen from her interviews and the message behind many of her songs. It was suspected that the star would give some sort of short speech about the political state of the country. In her performance, Gaga did not formally address politics, but gave nods to her opinions through her song choices.
