2017 World Series Preview

The Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians play each other in the World Series this year. The Cubs have earned the spot because of the young budding superstars on the team, Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant. Cleveland got to the World Series behind one of the most balanced teams in the whole MLB.

Pitching

The Cleveland Indians had five different pitchers that pitched 137.1+ innings this season. The Indians best pitcher is 2014 Cy Young winner Corey Kluber. He had a strikeout to walk ratio of 3.98.

The Cubs had four different pitchers with 15+ wins. Chicago's best pitcher is Jon Lester. He pitched 202.2 innings and allowed 0.76 H/IP and 0.27 ER/IP. The team also has two other really good pitchers in Jake Arrieta and Kyle Hendricks.

Batting

Chicago has two young budding superstars in 3B Kris Bryant and 1B Anthony Rizzo. Kris Bryant led team in batting average (.292), home runs (39) and hits (176) while Anthony Rizzo was first in RBIs with 109. The Cubs will get Kyle Schwarber back from a torn ACL.
