Week 7: New York Giants vs. Los Angeles Rams

This week, New York (3-3) travels to Los Angeles to play the Rams (3-3). Last week, Los Angeles lost 31-28 to Detroit. The Giants won 27-23 against Baltimore.

Offensive

New York is 3rd in passing yards per game but 30th in rushing yards per game. They are averaging 5.9 yards per play (compared to 5.1 for the Rams). The top two weapons the Giants have are Odell Beckham (35 catches, 581 yards, and 3 TDs) and Sterling Shepard (26 catches, 302 yards, and 2 TDs).

LA, on the other hand, is 28th in passing yards per game and rushing yards per game. The top two targets in the passing attack for the Rams are Kenny Britt (30 catches, 492 yards, and 2 TDs) and Tavon Austin (294 total yards from scrimmage).

Defensive

Landon Collins leads the Giants in tackles (49) and sacks (2.0). Janoris Jenkins leads the team with two interceptions. The Giants have given up 127 first downs (38 rushing, 78 passing, and 11 by penalty) this season. In total, the Giants have six sacks and two INTs.

Alec Olgetree leads LA with with 50 tackles. DE Robert Quinn leads the team with two sacks. Mark Barron leads the team with two interceptions. The Rams gave up 136 first downs (41 rushing, 76 passing, and 19 by penalty) this season. As a team, Los Angeles has 10 sacks and 4 INTs.

My prediction: 28-10 New York Giants

The Rams offense is way too bad for the Giants to give up 21+ points. If New York can stop the run game and put pressure on QB Case Keenum, they can win. For Los Angeles to win, they need to get Offensive Rookie of the Year Todd Gurley going (2.9 yards per rush so far this season). They also need to shut down Odell Beckham, Jr. and Sterling Shepard.
