Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness The Relay for Life Team Covers the School with Pink

October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In order to raise support, awareness, and funds, the Relay for Life Team covered the school with pink. The team stayed after school on October 13 and worked hard making posters, writing encouragements on pink sticky notes, and covering the Commons in pink streamers. The walls of the school are covered with pink paper, conveying encouraging words to keep fighting and have faith for a cure for cancer.

On Friday, October 14, team members arrived early to set up a donation-only face painting station to raise funds for cancer research. During lunch blocks, students could donate money to get their faces painted with pink. Mrs. Gillis is the teacher sponsor for the Relay team and encourages students to get involved. Friday also marks the annual pink-out football game, in which the football team will play York High School at Bailey Field at 7:00pm.
