Tabb Varsity Football Fights to the Finish

Tabb Tigers left it all on the field

Although the Varsity football team did not get the results they were hoping for in the Tabb vs Grafton game, true skills were on display by both teams. Deametrious Bagwell, Senior, scored the initial touchdown after a 74-yard pass from quarterback Will Marks that soared over the majority of the field. Noah Shorb put another point up for Tabb with a PAT, by a field goal. Grafton and Tabb both scored another touchdown before the quarter ended, starting the second quarter with Tabb leading 14 to Grafton’s 6.

Tabb had a 33-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to make the score 21 to 6, which Grafton responded with a 45-yard touchdown. Third quarter Grafton started their retaliation, coming back from a 17-point deficit to bring the score to 29-24 with a little more than six minutes left in the game. Tabb recorded a safety to bring the difference to three points in the final two minutes. The game ended with a 26 to 29 loss for Tabb, but not for lack of effort. George Glass, senior, said, “This is the best student section I have ever been a part of,” a sentiment shared by all of the prideful students cheering on the team there Friday night, September 23.
