Varsity Field Hockey Jumps into the Season

Field hockey has been preparing for this season all summer with daily workouts. The team's season officially started August 30 and the girls have played eight games and have a winning record (8-0). Emily Gavin, Junior, was interviewed for details about the Varsity field hockey team. Gavin has been playing field hockey since seventh grade and played certain games with the Varsity team last year, including states. The team has won many state championships and when Gavin thinks about it, she becomes excited about the possibility of getting another title this season. Gavin believes that the team will have a good season this year.

The team is working hard to prepare for states this season by playing different and harder teams. In the next couple of years, when the current Juniors and Seniors have graduated, Gavin predicts, "there will not be as much natural talent and Coach Wilson will have to make the players work much harder to win."

The team is known for its natural talent, but also its work ethic, always trying to improve and not stopping until they do. The girls have a great track record and should have a great season according to the players.
