Last week, the Broncos won 21-20. CJ Anderson ran for 139 total yards and had two touchdowns. Indianapolis lost a shootout against the Lions 39-35. QB Andrew Luck tried to will his way to a victory, scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter.
Offense
Denver's coach, Gary Kubiak, loves to run the ball, so expect CJ Anderson (92 rushing yards in week 1) to get the majority of the touches. On the other hand, the Colts probably will not run the ball a lot (19 carries in week 1). The Colts will live and die by Andrew Luck. Edge: Denver
Defense
The Colts' defense was very balanced last year (37 sacks, 17 interceptions, and 13 fumble recoveries). Denver had one of the best seasons ever for a team defense. Denver recorded 52 sacks, 14 interceptions, and 22 fumble recoveries. Edge: Denver
What Denver has to do to win
Denver's defense is way too talented to let Indy score more than 30 points. The Colts DBs will not be able to cover Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. So, the Broncos will need to play it balanced.
What the Colts need to do to win
Indy needs to stop the run and force QB Trevor Siemian to move the chains on third and long. Offensively, they need Andrew Luck to make good decisions with the football and not turn the ball over.
My prediction: Denver over Indianapolis 35-21
