K-Pop- The New Music Fad?

K-Pop has been around for a while but has recently gained more popularity here in the U.S. The genre came to popularity within Korea around the late 1980s to the 1990s. K-Pop gained more recognition once it started to incorporate American rap and pop styles. The largest turning point for K-Pop was the growth of Gangnam Style in the United States.

Today, there are many popular K-Pop bands such as Exo, Big Bang, Seventeen, and 2NE1. These bands combine large aspects of American pop songs. The songs usually have an upbeat tune, which creates an exciting environment. Most songs have unique dances to go along with the song. K-Pop bands are known for having intricate music videos.

K-Pop is a great genre for those who love upbeat music that you can dance to. Though the languages are different, American listeners can still enjoy the great music and concepts of K-Pop. K-Pop is a great thing, because it helps to combine cultures and bring the world together through one of its universal languages,
